Sage Customer Award Handed Out to Socius
November 26, 2008
Socius, a Sage North America business partner, has announced today that its client, Experient of Twinsburg, Ohio, has won a Sage Customer Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Experient won the Lifetime Achievement Award by “demonstrating the long-term benefits derived from the use of Sage SalesLogix,” according to the Socians. For 10 years, Experient has used a customized version of Sage SalesLogix.
The size of the company has tripled over the same 10 years. The ability to extend and expand the data across all areas of the business, as well as integrate new business units, required an integrated product using Sage SalesLogix and Experient’s ERP product, was considered when awarding the honor, Socius officials say.
“Experient is one of our most successful clients, and their Lifetime Achievement Award from Sage is truly an outstanding achievement,” said Jeffrey R. Geisler, Socius’ CEO and Senior Managing Director.

This reporter must say he’s intrigued by the name Socius chose for itself. Usually companies name themselves after inspiring-sounding processes or known industry totems, but Socius seems to have named itself after a… protein.
When transected into COS-7 cells, the paper’s authors say in the abstract, “Socius is translocated to the cell periphery in response to Rnd1 and Rnd3 and colocalized with the GTPases. While expression of wild-type Socius in Swiss 3T3 fibroblasts has little effect on the actin cytoskeleton, the expression of a membrane-targeted form of Socius, containing a COOH-terminal farnesylation motif (Socius-CAAX), induces a dramatic loss of stress fibers.”
Therefore, the paper’s authors “propose that Socius participates in the Rnd GTPase-induced signal transduction pathways, leading to reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton.”
Impressive stuff, to be sure, but one wonders how many CRM clients are aware of this?
