Nectar's Converged Management Platform Now Avaya Compliant

November 21, 2008
Nectar Services Corp., an IP communications services provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Juma Technology Corp., has announced that its Converged Management Platform (nectar/CMP) is compliant with key Internet Protocol (IP) telephony solutions from Avaya, a global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The Nectar (News - Alert) CMP is designed to help businesses to monitor and manage the different layers of their converged network and systems infrastructure. The service has now been designated as Avaya (News - Alert) compliant as it has been successfully tested with Communications Manager 5.1.

"For our Nectar Converged Management Platform, achieving the Avaya Compliant status is an important affirmation for our service offering," said Edmond Baydian, Nectar's Senior Vice-President of Product Development and Marketing, in a Friday statement.

"We invested a tremendous amount of time developing intelligent modules based on the Avaya Communication Manager platform. To have Avaya's leading interoperability engineers test our product and give it their stamp of approval really puts a feather in our hat," said Baydian.

David Giangano, President of Global Channels for Nectar, expects the Avaya Compliant rating to help drive even greater success for Nectar's Channel Program.

"As we continue to grow our channel of Nectar resellers, the DevConnect (News - Alert) compliance is a key validation of proven interoperability,” said Giangano. “For our channel of largely Avaya partners, this sends a clear message that the Nectar Converged Management Platform is a solid offering that has been tested and verified."

Nectar Services has been able to benefit from its Platinum membership in the Avaya DevConnect program. This initiative was created in an effort to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

With its membership in the Avaya DevConnect program, Nectar is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. where a team of engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application.

"By participating in Avaya's compliance testing program and committing to open standards, development partners like Nectar are helping businesses get more out of their network investment," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in the Friday statement.

"Our customers are able to easily communications-enable critical business processes, change the way they work and uncover new value that can help them build their bottom line."

Anytime a company’s product is labeled Avaya-compliant, both client companies and the provider stand to benefit from this designation. The member company benefits from the brand power of Avaya, allowing for further market penetration.

For client companies, they are assured that the solution works within their Avaya environment. The interoperability testing ensures all parties that the solution will extend the value of the Avaya integration and build out existing functionality.
