Wacom Completes Deployment of Kinaxis' RapidResponse
To improve planning cycle times and mid-cycle adjustments for its global IPS process Wacom Co. Ltd, the high-tech electronics provider has deployed Kinaxis' software as a service.
Kinaxis is a provider of RapidResponse, an on-demand service for supply chain management and S&OP.
Wacom Co., Ltd. is the world's premier marketer of pen tablets, interactive pen displays, and pen and touch sensor components. It has registered $344 million in sales for the fiscal year ending March 2010. It also operates a global supply chain in a highly competitive and volatile market, driving a constant need to quickly and effectively make adjustments to its global IPS plans.
Managing accurate adjustments, with outsourced manufacturing operations, requires close cooperation and coordination with their EMS partners, from both an operations and IT systems perspective.
RapidResponse, with project partners, Qunie Corporation and EXA Corporation, was deployed across all Wacom sites world-wide, integrating with Wacom's Legacy ERP environment, as well as with its EMS/CM and 3PL partners. Wacom finalized RapidResponse because it was a service that was capable of providing them with effective coordination of internal and outsourced operations, by having a consolidated view of the extended supply chain and robust data exchange and analysis.
RapidResponse's ability to support high-speed "what-if" simulations that could incorporate the insight of those impacted by a change is of great priority for Wacom. To continuously evaluate such things as global inventory consolidations; intercompany inventory requirements; and demand and supply allocations across sites, Wacom is using RapidResponse.
"As a single offering which addresses multiple business problems, RapidResponse was a good fit for Wacom because of their cross-functional needs and multi-enterprise operations," John Sicard, executive vice president, marketing, development and service operations for Kinaxis, said. "We are proud to call Wacom a customer and look forward to helping them further expand the use and functionality of RapidResponse within their organization."
In related news, Kinaxis, a provider of RapidResponse, an on-demand service for supply chain management and sales and operations planning has appointed J. Ian Giffen, CA (News - Alert), CF, to its Board of Directors.
