ADC Unveils Next-Generation Data Center Solutions
January 19, 2009
ADC will soon unveil new TrueNet structured cabling solutions. The company claims that these products offer unique design, better performance and higher density.
Data centers have come a long way since their beginning. As the needs of the customers evolved the design of data centers has been getting complex and difficult to cater to these demands. To support these complex structures, companies such as ADC (News - Alert) are coming up with solutions such as structured cabling. Experts feel that although the customers of today are looking for reliable and energy efficient solutions, they do not want to give up on their favorite aspects such as density and manageability.
In today’s data center environment, reducing stress on patch cords is extremely important to better manage the available resources. ADC claims that the company’s patented angle right/left design does this job for the customers as it improves 10G transmission performance. With its CopperTen patch panel, the solution also improves angled solutions for the data center and LAN environments.
“Today's data center customers demand highly reliable and energy efficient solutions that provide optimal performance without compromising density and manageability," said M. H. Raza, vice president of Enterprise Business for ADC. "Our solutions are designed with industry-leading cable management that improves passive airflow significantly which reduces the energy it takes to cool a data center, saving money and the environment.”
Soon, ADC plans to introduce other data center solutions such as High Density Fiber Solutions, Wireless In-Building Solutions, Augmented Category 6 Solutions, and Energy Efficient Data Center Solutions.
Providing maximum throughput, the Right Angle CopperTen Jacks from this new solution have a low profile design and also offers a 45-degree, silver-plated Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC (News - Alert)).
Recently, the company received the largest 'Savings by Design' reward from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD (News - Alert)) for its new McClellan Park data center in Sacramento, CA. ADC's "green," ultra high power density, wholesale data center will occupy 500,000 square feet across four buildings and will provide 90 megawatts (MW) of power.
