CosmoCom Customers Assured FTC Compliance
October 01, 2008
While the Federal Trade Commission's recently added requirements for telemarketing sales may have some telemarketers worried, CosmoCom (News - Alert) is announcing that customers of their CosmoCall Universe offering can rest assured they are fully compliant with the new guidelines.
CosmoCall Universe is an IP Contact Center Platform for Unified Customer Communications including Multi-Channel IP ACD with Universal Queuing (UQ).
New requirements added by the FTC (News - Alert) include strict limits on prerecorded calls and call abandonment rates. More specifically, calls must begin a message within 2 seconds of answer, provide a one key-press option to end the call and choose do-not-call, ring at least 15 seconds, and other requirements that pose challenges to most dialing systems.
With out the need for a software upgrade, CosmoCom customers utilizing the CosmoCall Universe system are already fully compliant and don’t need to fret over the capital cost of achieving compliance or any impact on the productivity of live agents since the CosmoDialer includes a predictive dialer pacing technology.
The dialer pacing technology is based on massive call simulation to provide higher agent productivity with fewer abandoned calls as well as provides integration between the dialer and ACD.
"Providing future-proof technology is a major element of our value proposition," commented Ari Sonesh, CosmoCom's Chairman and CEO. "The impact of these regulations provides a great example of that value. I know that our dialing customers are congratulating themselves on their decision to work with us. Other companies facing a need to upgrade or completely replace their dialing platforms may find this an opportunity to consider the value that CosmoCom offers."
CosmoCom recently received a 2008 TMC (News - Alert) Labs Innovation Award for their CosmoCall Universe Contact Center platform, recognizing the value of the product’s offering to the industry.
Back in May, the FTC announced the largest telemarketing fraud sweep “Operation Tele-PHONEY,” filing federal district court complaints against 13 allegedly deceptive telemarketing operations.
When combined with the actions brought by other enforcement agencies, the sweep encompasses more than 180 cases including both civil and criminal actions in the United States and Canada. Read more HERE.
