3PAR, Databasement to Deliver Utility Storage in Europe
September 29, 2008
3PAR reportedly has strengthened its presence across the Europe, Middle East and Asian markets through a new channel partnership with storage systems integrator Databasement.
Across the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain, Databasement delivers replication and restoration solutions to medium and large companies.
3PAR considers the partnership with Databasement strategic as it facilitates the utility storage provider to increase its sales presence in EMEA while expanding into European markets such as Spain. 3PAR has already introduced utility storage to several countries across Europe. The company either has a direct or indirect sales presence in all these companies. 3PAR has gained additional channels in the Netherlands and Belgium by partnering with Databasement. This partnership has also introduced utility storage to the Spanish market.
According to the agreement, 3PAR has agreed to provide Databasement with focused training to maximize the benefits of important 3PAR Utility Storage products. Within next-generation datacenter environments, this includes the 3PAR InServ T-Class Storage Server with Thin Built In, 3PAR Thin Provisioning, and 3PAR Dynamic Optimization.
3PAR believes that as the company grows, it must continue to select partners that share its vision of a highly efficient datacenter where technical, financial, and environmental performance. The company feels that Databasement understands the disruptive nature of its technology. Also, much like server virtualization technologies have done with the server infrastructure, the company foresees an opportunity with utility storage to drive a wave of consolidation.
“Due to the growth of its markets, Europe has become nearly as crucial a region as North America for many storage vendors,” said Rob Christ, chief executive officer at Databasement. “By offering the complete range of 3PAR’s highly virtualized storage array products in combination with virtualization offerings from vendors such as VMware, we are now able to address the increasing need for turnkey virtual datacenter solutions built on a smart, efficient, and agile storage infrastructure.”
