Pulsic Ltd Aims to Increase Interoperability in Custom Design Automation
Pulsic Ltd. is an electronic design automation (EDA) company which offers production-proven floor planning, placement and routing software solutions for severe design challenges at advanced nodes.
Recently it announced that a number of new efforts were being aimed at increased interoperability in custom design automation (CDA). Pulsic has joined the Si2 Open PDK Coalition, in addition to its already active involvement in the Si2 OpenAccess Coalition, to actively drive the development of more industry standards directly applicable to the custom design segment. Pulsic is also a member of interoperability programs from the leading EDA companies, which includes the Cadence Design Systems' (News - Alert) Connections and Mentor OpenDoor.
Corresponding to the existing design flows, Pulsic technology delivers hand-crafted quality, faster than manual design or general-purpose software solutions.
Gary Smith, Chief analyst at GarySmith EDA, a chief provider of market intelligence and advisory services for the global electronic design automation (EDA), electronic system level (ESL) design, and related technology markets says that Pulsic has a strong reputation for customer-driven solutions, and their expanded efforts in interoperability have come at an important time as their customers are currently struggling with the cost of integration. He further added that the custom design automation market segment will benefit a lot from greater interoperability and Pulsic's active involvement in these programs will help facilitating the development of new ideas and solutions among its members.
Ken Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of Pulsic says that through successful collaboration, his company will be able to increase interoperability and expand adoption of custom design automation. Ken further added that their extensive customer experience has shown that a focused investment is needed to integrate new tools into a custom design environment. Hence they are investing in industry-wide efforts like OpenAccess which facilitates customer-driven collaboration to increase productivity and grow the overall custom design automation market segment.
Custom design automation solutions using OpenAccess will be demonstrated by Pulsic in the Si2 booth at the 47th Design Automation Conference (DAC) at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. DAC is the world's prominent technical conference and tradeshow which covers the latest trends in electronic design and design automation, it will be held from June 13-18.
