MicroStrategy Debuts MicroStrategy 9 Release 2

May 10, 2010

Improving user scalability and performance, MicroStrategy has launched MicroStrategy (News - Alert) 9 Release 2. This new technology meets the increased demand for higher BI performance, the company stated in a press release.

The demand for higher BI performance is driven by the rapid expansion of both data volumes and the number of BI users in organizations across industries. MicroStrategy's In-memory technology is engineered to meet this demand. To improve real-time query performance, MicroStrategy accelerates performance by pre-calculating computations and placing the results into its In-memory acceleration engine, the company stated.

The MicroStrategy BI platform helps companies to expand business intelligence to growing end user communities with rapid access to data via desktop, Web, and mobile applications. As part of MicroStrategy's commitment to ever-increasing performance levels, the company has deployed focused resources, programs, and a state-of-the-art laboratory to extend the MicroStrategy platform's high scalability and excellent performance to deliver even faster BI applications.

"Organizations are increasingly leveraging their BI applications as a source of competitive advantage," said Sanju Bansal (News - Alert), MicroStrategy's COO. "MicroStrategy's In-memory technology can help companies to provide the level of performance they need to promote large scale BI adoption, and improve the decisions of thousands of employees at all levels of the organization."

To support large mobile user populations, MicroStrategy's In-memory technology provides the speed and performance. MicroStrategy can provide thousands of store managers at a fashion retailer with rapid access to sales information on a smartphone. A health services provider can generate 30,000 personalized dashboards in just one hour and deliver them via e-mail to pharmacy owners with MicroStrategy's In-memory technology, the company stated.
