CA, Inc., Salesforce.Com Partner to Provide Agile Development on Force.Com Platform

CA (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of IT management software solutions, has reportedly announced that it has partnered with salesforce.com, a provider of enterprise cloud computing solutions and services for delivering agile development management in the cloud on the Force.com platform.
Through this partnership, both the companies will launch CA Agile (News - Alert) Planner on Force.com, which will let small businesses and big enterprises have better control and visibility over their development initiatives and also accelerate development timelines. This will subsequently increase the innovation and reduced time-to-market, hope the companies.
The rich experience of salesforce.com helped a lot in design process of CA Agile Planner. The company has an earned considerable amount of expertise in managing innovation after it made transition to the agile development methodology. It offered some of its best practices to CA that benefitted the Enterprise IT Management company in developing its research and development programs.
Salesforce.com (News - Alert) has a community of 200,000 developers, who have brought more than 135,000 custom applications compatible with the Force.com, and CA Agile Planner is also one of them now. Users can leverage it in simultaneously managing multiple development methodologies such as Scrum and Extreme Programming or ‘XP.’ The application will also be integrated with CA Clarity (News - Alert) PPM, a project and portfolio management system which is trusted by more than 250,000 people at more than 1,000 enterprises worldwide for managing various programs, such as development initiatives.
The customer base of CA will now enjoy the benefits of a comprehensive management control regardless of development methodology, through the integration of the CA Agile Planner and CA Clarity PPM.
According to Marc Benioff (News - Alert), chairman and CEO, salesforce.com, the combination of CA's leadership in serving enterprise IT and salesforce.com's experience in cloud computing made this the perfect partnership. Benioff said that Agile development is transforming the way that companies innovate, and by partnering with CA, salesforce.com is empowering companies to manage agile development in the cloud.
John Swainson, CEO, CA, said that Force.com's growth, momentum and the tremendous productivity CA’s engineers are gaining with it are nothing short of amazing. Swainson said that with CA Agile Planner, the company is seeking to leverage both technologies for the benefit of both small and large developers, as the application on Force.com will help them if they want to develop better cloud services regardless of methodology.
In June, CA, Inc. announced its offer to support BMW with scalable and centralized Web access management and single sign-on, in order to facilitate increased security for the carmaker’s Web applications while lowering IT administration costs.
