Mitel Intros Business Communications Tools
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor
Mitel reportedly says it’s introduced communications tools to boost customer service, drive employee productivity and simplify network management.
At a time when small and medium sized organizations are looking for ways to streamline operational costs, Mitel’s (News - Alert) communications tools are designed to help track and manage inbound calls to optimize business operations and will simplify networks to reduce costs.
The Mitel Business Dashboard is a management portal that will allow organizations to monitor call activity and collect trend data on call volumes and times. Organizations will be able to assess the effectiveness of how call traffic is handled through real-time and historical reports.
Reports are fully customizable and can be scheduled to run at set intervals. The call tracking feature will provide metrics on sales and marketing initiatives. Organizations will be able to assign a dedicated phone number and track the resulting calls during marketing campaigns. This information can then be used for initial sales, upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
According to Anna Adams, customer service manager of Premier Beverage Company, the real-time monitoring capabilities of the Mitel Business Dashboard allows her to focus on the information that will help address business performance issues as they occur. The detailed reporting tools identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings. The intelligent call tracking Mitel Business Dashboard is available on the Mitel 5000 Communications Platform.
Flexibility in the implementation of network connectivity and services is provided by SIP Trunking on the Mitel 5000 CP. When compared with analogue, T1 or PRI lines, SIP trunking will reduce costs depending on local tariffing. The Mitel 5000 CP supports the Mitel Applications Suite which in turn provides capabilities like unified messaging, speech-enabled auto-attendant, and audio and web conferencing. Since these capabilities are provided through a single interface, unified communications management and deployment get simplified.
Mitel’s latest desktop IP phone, the 5360 is a full-feature color phone that provides graphically-rich applications. It has a seven-inch touch display that enables one-touch access to embedded or Internet-based content and applications. The 5360 IP Phone provides a color backlit display with programmable self-labeling functions and softkeys. The phone also has a gadget sidebar and a built-in HTML toolkit for application development. The 5360 IP Phone is compatible with the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform.
Don’t forget to check out TMCnet’s White Paper Library, which provides a selection of in-depth information on relevant topics affecting the IP Communications industry. The library offers white papers, case studies and other documents which are free to registered users.
