Comings & Goings: SpeechStorm Strengthens Its Executive Management Team to Foster Growth in 2014

SpeechStorm (News - Alert) announced the appointment of Robert McGarry and Tom Looney to its executive management team, a move that is in line with the company’s long term plan to strengthen its presence in the EMEA region while continuing to expand into North America. Robert McGarry joins the company in the capacity of Vice President for Sales while Tom Looney will hold the position of Vice President for Delivery.

In a release, Oliver Lennon, CEO at SpeechStorm, said, “I am delighted to welcome Robert and Tom to the team. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to attract individuals of such a high caliber. The experience they bring to the team, in terms of selling and implementing enterprise software on a global scale will help us accelerate our growth plans, giving us the additional capacity we need, both to deliver on opportunities already identified and to explore new markets and product innovations.”

Robert McGarry will be responsible for increasing the company’s revenue opportunities in the EMEA region and also for strengthening its channel partner program and customer base in the region. McGarry joins SpeechStorm from Singularity Systems, where he has held a role in the senior management.

Tom Looney will take on the responsibilities for the company’s implementation and development teams. Looney joins SpeechStorm from NYSE Technologies, where he held the position of a Software Development Manager. Over his 20 years of experience, Looney was a Services Executive at Microsoft (News - Alert) Ireland and Senior Vice President for Services at Meridio, which was later acquired by Autonomy.

Announcing the company’s plans for 2014, Lennon continued, “We have an established and growing base of customers in Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe, and will shortly be announcing our first implementation in the US. Expanding our executive team will enable us to dedicate resources to business development in each of our chosen markets, as well as increase our development and delivery capacity. I'm looking forward to further exciting developments in 2014.”

SpeechStorm is engaged in providing pre-built IVR, mobile apps and speech self-service that effectively minimize the waiting times for customers as well as improve call handling capabilities in the contact center. The telecommunication solutions developed by the company enable contact center operators to better manage the customer experience.
