September 16, 2013

Amcom Software, Inc., a subsidiary of USA Mobility (News - Alert), Inc., recently announced that its pc/psap emergency call-taking and dispatch solution has been selected by Stafford Township, N.J., to support its needs.

Amcom pc/psap gives PSAP dispatchers an easy-to-use interface that integrates the underlying phone system, mapping systems, and other resources to put critical information and tasks at the call-taker’s fingertips. In fact, the software integrates with user’s existing PBX (News - Alert) for ease of deployment. 911 dispatchers are able to instantly involve police, fire, EMT, and hazmat personnel. The solution is flexible enough to help the user incorporate changing needs, yet highly reliable to handle his important function—answering 911 calls and dispatching first responders.

"It was a simple decision to work with Amcom," said Christopher Smith, Network Administrator at the Stafford Township Police Department. "I spoke with several customers before purchasing and only heard positive things. The Amcom solution provides the level of reliability needed for the township’s emergency communications now and into the future."

"We’re seeing a strong uptick in public safety solution interest as dependable emergency call-taking technology is really the backbone of effective community response," said Colin Balmforth, president at Amcom Software. "Amcom has a strong track record for providing solutions for public safety, and word of mouth from our customers is contributing to this momentum. We are proud to support a growing number of municipal and military organizations with their emergency communication needs."

In related news, Amcom Software announced that it has launched a Physician Advisory Board of six doctors from hospitals across the United States. According to the company, the board will meet regularly to share their expertise, real-life experiences, and product insights with Amcom. Amcom continually seeks feedback from physicians and other caregivers on the use of mobile tools to communicate and to ensure that their requirements are met by the company's range of solutions.
