Voxeo (News - Alert) recently announced that it has integrated the joyn messaging service into its CXP platform enabling it to provide developers with an easy way to deploy joyn-based apps within current customer communication strategies. The company in its announcement said that it had used the Solaiemes’ RCS API Gateway (News - Alert) to achieve this integration.
In a statement, Tobias Goebel, Voxeo’s director of mobile strategy, said that, “joyn has huge potential for business-to-consumer communication, both in agent-assisted and automated self-service solutions. By introducing joyn to Voxeo CXP via Solaiemes’ (News - Alert) RCS API Gateway, it becomes exceptionally easy for organizations to add joyn-powered apps to their customer communication strategies in a fully integrated fashion.”
The GSM Association created joyn as a joint service initiative between carriers and handset manufacturers. Users of joyn can easily share images, entertainment media, documents, and other files either while on a regular telephone call or outside of it. Similar to an SMS, joyn is pre-installed and configured on the mobile handsets of carriers. The CXP application lifecycle management suite from Voxeo is the only multi-channel self-service platform which supports joyn.
Juan Mateu, Solaiemes co-founder, said, "Solaiemes envisioned from the beginning the potential of joyn instant messaging as something beyond the person-to-person casual messaging, and considered it a perfect channel for B2C communications. It is exciting to see Voxeo add joyn as a communications channel in its CXP multi-channel self-service platform and make joyn available to companies to communicate with their customers."
Voxeo CXP has been designed as an application development and lifecycle management suite which enables customer service departments to easily develop, implement, manage, and analyze automated applications over joyn, and on other channels such as IVR, mobile Web, and SMS which are supported by CXP. Voxeo and Solaiemes are expecting that the joyn-enabled CXP platform will be deployed in a short time by its mobile carrier clients.
