V3D Wraps Up New Funding Round, Nets $2.87 Million for Quality of Experience Software

December 03, 2012

The quality of a user's experience, in a variety of different fields, is extremely important. From apps to devices, whether a user can quickly understand and work with the interface, control layouts and all the other things that comprise the experience is vital. In response to that, Vision 360 Degrees (V3D) earlier today announced the completion of a 2.2 million Euro (around $2.87 million U.S.) round of funding to help them expand their market reach outward and take better advantage of the international market for mobile technology.

V3D is already widely recognized throughout much of the mobile technology industry as an industry leader, as evidenced by the wide adoption of V3D's EQualOne product. EQualOne, a customer experience management (CEM) tool, gives mobile operators a better handle on what customers are thinking about their mobile smartphones and 3G/LTE (News - Alert) dongles. Knowing what customers think about their devices and the overall experience they're having goes a long way toward not only capitalizing on successes, but also addressing any problems being experienced. That helps prevent churn on some levels, and with the growing number of competitors in the field, having a handle on users' preferences and possibility for improvements is likely to prove welcome for a wide variety of mobile providers.

With the new round of funding in hand, V3D, according to remarks from CEO Philippe Vial-Grelier, is looking to improve its own user experience metrics, refining its product offerings and expanding its potential market reach to more mobile providers who aren't yet using V3D's offerings.

Thanks to a combination of technical skill in software development, as well as a close understanding of the issues mobile service providers face throughout a wide swath of geography--V3D's understanding, according to reports, extends from Europe and Africa throughout the Middle East and into Asia--it's clear that they've got quite a bit to offer. With two substantial markets seemingly left outstanding in the Americas, there's certainly a good potential for growth here, as everyone needs access to quality of experience measuring tools so that they can provide the best they can in terms of just that, the overall user experience.

While many consumers will value price above all else, especially in a slow economy, the user experience has to be a close second; very few consumers will keep a terrible user experience because it's inexpensive, so knowing what's wrong with an eye toward fixing it is a vital bit of information for companies everywhere. V3D should have a solid future of success if it can provide that information.
