New Tools for Sales Professionals - Popcorn and Datahug in conjunction with Plantronics

Audio communications solutions provider Plantronics (News - Alert) in conjunction with ThreeWill and Datahug unveiled new tools for sales professionals that automatically serve up information such as real-time customer data and organization-wide relationships with their customers.

 “Sales professionals need to move quickly to access customer information, leverage existing relationships and update CRM applications,” Jeffrey Siegel, vice president of Strategy and New Business Development at Plantronics said in a statement.

“Instead of spending time navigating through multiple screens, Popcorn and Datahug provide information when they need it most; as they are engaging with customers. This integration will also update records so the sales professional does not have to go back and manually enter information on who they called and when,” Siegel added.

Sales professionals find themselves frustrated with CRM systems when they need information fast. Plantronics integration with ThreeWill and Datahug is enabled by Plantronics’ software developers kit which provides information such as mobile phone caller ID, mobile phone call state, proximity to a connected PC and headset wearing state. Plantronics headsets also help these applications capture and track your call information, eliminating steps in the CRM process.

Popcorn, a new app for Salesforce.com (News - Alert) from ThreeWill, shows all the relevant information and history for a contact. Popcorn gets information about mobile calls through the Plantronics APIs. Popcorn also ‘pops’ Chatter, the social enterprise tool from Salesforce.com that helps one collaborate with context. Danny Ryan, co-founder and vice president of Business Development at ThreeWill emphasized that the killer feature of Popcorn is the ability to log a call to Salesforce directly from the Popcorn dashboard.

Datahug is a new application that tracks relationships across an entire company enables users to quickly identify the best inroads to reach a prospect. Plantronics is delivering call activity into Datahug which can now let users to know how often a colleague talks to a prospective customer.

In related news, Plantronics launched a developer’s community in May 2012 to provide software developers access to physical aspects of a person’s work life. By incorporating information from the physical world, context aware software can dramatically improve business productivity.
