The new Oracle (News
- Alert) Utilities Mobile Workforce Management 2.1 and Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Analytics are supposed to help utilities enhance field service efficiency, customer service and system reliability.
The Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management 2.1 is packed with some new and enhanced features such as: resource planning and scheduling; common dispatching interface (CDI); mobile application; and mobile communication platform (MCP).
Oracle has proclaimed itself as the utilities’ software partner of choice in the quest to respond positively to these pressures and for that purpose it has brought together a team of utility experts, software applications that address mission-critical needs, a rock-solid suite of corporate operational software, high performance servers and storage, and advanced middleware and technology.
Oracle explained that the Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management ensures that field crews reach the sites of scheduled appointments and emergencies on time, via the best route, with the right skills and equipment to get the job done. Utilities can also address field service via modules within various Oracle corporate administration suites or if they need only to schedule customer appointments, they may also choose Oracle Siebel Field Service.
With the new Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Analytics which is based on the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) platform, utilities will be able to validate the effectiveness of a field service organization in completing work, formulate the best way to reallocate resources with respect to workload, check compliance with emergency response-time standards and more.
Officials with the company noted that at present utilities are focused on enhancing customer service, controlling costs and ensuring a safe workplace and a reliable network. The Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management 2.1 and Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Analytics provide utilities with the tools they need to balance the dynamics of mobilizing, dispatching and monitoring their field service workforces – improving operational and service efficiency and maximizing customer satisfaction.
