Student Recruitment Manager from TargetX Helped Saint Joseph's University with Student Recruiting Process

January 05, 2012

Philadelphia’s Jesuit university, Saint Joseph's University, recently invested in a CRM system, called The Student Recruitment Manager (SRM) from TargetX. This cloud-based customer relationship management system provides the basis of an electronic communications strategy that facilitates the recruitment of thousands of students to a wide assortment of specialized graduate programs.

In a press release, the university reported that the solution has made it possible to effectively market its varied graduate programs through a sophisticated electronic communications strategy.

The Student Recruitment Manager was designed to help colleges manage, integrate and automate the process of student recruitment from the first point of contact through enrollment.

In 2008, TargetX built the SRM on the proven Force.com platform of Salesforce.com (News - Alert), the worldwide leader in on-demand customer relationship management and a pioneer in cloud computing. Being cloud-based, the solution makes mobile and customizable recruiting tool in higher education.

This specialized higher education CRM system allowed the university to manage the entire student recruiting process with only two full time employees. The university said that the CRM solution enabled two full-time staffers successfully and efficiently recruit students for 41 graduate and certificate programs at the university.

“We've put in place a comprehensive communications plan for prospective students and a process for managing those communications despite a very, very lean staff,” Jill Dougherty Cleary, director of Marketing and Recruitment for Graduate Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences explained in a statement.

Cleary along with other staff members have to provide the prospective students with the most relevant information based on their interests, lead them through the recruitment process and team them with an academic program director. Student Recruitment Manager made it possible in a more student-focused manner.

“Prior to our use of the SRM, there was a lot of guessing about where a student was in the process. For example, we didn't know if a prospect had attended a recruiting event, had traveled to campus for an interview, or even if they had already applied for one of our programs.

“With the SRM, we can see what they've done and what else they need. We can respond instantly to their inquiry and then put together a communications stream that's completely tailored to their interests,” Cleary added.

In October 2011, TargetX announced ground-breaking enhancements for its Student Recruitment Manager. In addition to social engagement features, the upgraded solution included the ability to easily import lists from the most popular sources of college-bound students such as SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, NRCCUA, CAPPEX, TOEFL, the Common App, Recruitment PLUS and the Student Search Service.
