Tenable Integrates its Security Products with Top Patch Management Solutions
Tenable Network Security has announced that the company’s SecurityCenter and Vulnerability Scanner now integrate with the best of management solutions.
Tight integration allows Tenable solutions to retrieve patch status from market-leading patch management systems. Leveraging Tenable's familiar and trusted reporting format, significantly streamlining audits, this capability delivers automated unified patch status reports, incorporating both the results of Nessus credentialed scans and data from patch management systems. Expanding the scope of vulnerability assessment to additional systems, patch status information for hosts where appropriate system credentials are unavailable or there is limited networking capability.

Backported patches are code updates from current software releases applied retroactively to older, deployed software to prevent exploit. The practice can lead to inaccurate reports of vulnerabilities. Helping to avoid exploits from fast-spreading attacks, the company stated in a press release, it provides identification of hosts not being managed by patching systems, the company stated in a press release.
Recently, the company announced that it has been named the fastest-growing enterprise network security company in North America on Deloitte's (News - Alert) 2011 Technology Fast 500™. The win marks the second consecutive top-ranking for Tenable; in August the company was named the fastest-growing private company in enterprise security software by Inc. Magazine. Tenable ranked 261st on Deloitte's list with a four-year sales growth of 337 percent and was in the top 10 among local software providers.
