Heartland Payment Systems' SmartLink Receives Gilbarco Passport Certification
Heartland Payment Systems, a payment processor in the U.S., claimed that it’s SmartLink Managed ProPlatinum, ProPlus and Pro managed network services have received the Gilbarco Passport Certification from Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
According to Heartland Payment Systems, SmartLink is a secure, managed network service that effectively supports secure transaction data and back-office systems, allowing petroleum and c-store operators to spend less time managing their networks and more time caring for customers. Now as a certified partner of network services on Gilbarco's Passport POS system, the SmartLink services can offer secure efficient network connectivity for delivering payment transactions on Gilbarco equipment in a PCI (News - Alert) (Payment Card Industry) compliant environment.
Gilbarco explained that its SmartLink certification gives retailers another secure managed network option to meet their PCI compliance obligations, simplify their network infrastructure, and improve productivity of IT managers. By ensuring SmartLink's seamless operation with the Passport Point of Sale, retailers can focus more on serving customers versus resolving common network issues.
Officials with Heartland remarked that they are very pleased that their SmartLink product has been certified as a Gilbarco Broadband/WAN Networking Solution partner as it further demonstrates their commitment to the petroleum retail market. As one of the largest petroleum payments processors, Heartland understands the unique needs of the petroleum industry and has a commitment to providing the best management tools for marketers and distributors alike.
Heartland Payment Systems added that SmartLink operates on any broadband circuit including high-speed 4G/3G wireless broadband networks and can be scaled to reduce expenses and improve operations for single-store and multi-store operators. Using the services, retailers can overcome common industry issues by easily connecting their POS systems and in-store payment and back office devices. Also, they can eliminate dial connectivity, enhance transaction security and reduce transaction processing times. Using the SmartLink merchant gateway operators can monitor their automatic tank gauge, in-store environmental control system and daily back-office data such as email, file sharing and Internet usage.
