PushToTest Launches Open Source SOA Knowledge Kits
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a helpful approach in software development that enables enterprises to design the deliverable solutions as a number of services that are interoperable and mutually connected.
PushToTest, a provider of open source test automation solutions such as tools, services, platforms and methodology to medium and large enterprises, has announced that it had recently conducted a study titled “The Composition Approach for Large-Scale SOA” that focuses upon best practice approaches to SOA, and assesses the SOA development and deployment solutions being provided by a number of vendors such as Oracle, IBM (News
- Alert) and TIBCO.
The company had implemented a test use case across all of the solutions within the study, and has announced the key findings that were observed while conducting it. It emphasizes that, in order to ensure the success of a SOA implementation, enterprises need to adopt service composition and service virtualization approaches to development and governance. Also, it states that the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks products offered by TIBCO provide overall lower total cost of ownership (TCO), a better architecture for large-scale SOA development, deployment, and management; and ensure a hassle-free development environment as well.
Solutions offered by PushToTest fulfill the needs of business management and development teams in resolving business performance issues in Web application, Rich Internet Application (RIA), SOA and Business Process Management (BPM) application environments.
“The success of agile software development methodology and DevOps practices show that development and deployment platform choices have a significant impact -- up to 25 percent in the first year -- on the total costs to develop, orchestrate, deploy, and manage services,” commented Frank Cohen (News - Alert), CEO and Founder at PushToTest. “Our research explores a new composition approach to building SOA services and provides a methodology to evaluate today's tools in terms of developer productivity and ease of deployment and management. The analysis shows that TIBCO is the leader in service composition and service virtualization and is building products to meet global enterprise needs,” added Cohen.
During the study, SOA development and deployment tools and platforms offered by three leading software publishers including Oracle (News
- Alert), IBM and TIBCO had been assessed. Instead of following the public claims, PushToTest analyzed which skill sets, domain expertise and specialization are necessary to be adopted by enterprises for attaining success in each platform.
The company has now published the results of the study within a free open-source SOA Knowledge Kit, which comprises of various step-by-step developer journals, SOA use case implementation source code; and load and performance scalability tests. The free open-source SOA Knowledge Kit is available for free at soakit.pushtotest.com.
Earlier this month, PushToTest announced the release of TestMaker 6.1, a distributed test environment, with improvements and bug fixes. As a platform for test automation, service governance and business service management, the TestMaker enables teams to shift from manual functional testing of web applications to automated functional, load and performance tests, and production monitoring.
