SugarCRM Announces Release of Sugar 6.3 Open CRM Platform for Community Developers

November 16, 2011

SugarCRM (News - Alert), customer relationship management (CRM) company, has released the Sugar 6.3 open CRM Platform which has been designed to support wider integration with third party applications, faster feedback enabling real-time collaboration and enhanced administrative control delivering users with a comprehensive viewing of projects and activities. An improved version of its community edition, the new Sugar 6.3 is the most flexible, intuitive and open CRM platform available in the market for community developers and customers.

In a release, John Mertic, community manager at SugarCRM, said, "Being open and flexible is in SugarCRM's heritage; we provide a free and open source platform that developers can use to build their own application. The newest release of the Sugar platform is dedicated to our community and provides them with more robust tools and significant feature enhancements. It's imperative we build together, so as the community grows so does SugarCRM as a company."

Administrators leveraging the new mass update control will be able to set up role-based or policy-based access which will increase visibility into activities leading to optimized project management. Furthermore, Sugar Logic has been enhanced to allow importing of data, creation of formulas, module renaming and to deliver increased mass updates management for all modules providing increased visibility and transparency. With its newly improved Import Wizard, Sugar 6.3 is capable of importing Google (News - Alert) contacts while the enhanced quick edit feature in ListViews, subpanels and reports will make it easy for customers to carry out inline editing. Additionally, importing and archiving of external emails into Sugar 6.3 will now be possible.

Another new capability included in the Sugar 6.3 platform is an upgraded AJAX user interface which will support performance improvements and accelerate response time. The Sugar 6.3 solution can be run both on-premise and also in the cloud and offers increased scalability. The expanding community of developers, programmers, partners, and customers across the globe now have the power of increased number of choices and the ability to develop customized applications thanks to Sugar 6.3.
