Accenture Duck Creek Software Supports Specialty Insurer's Development Initiatives

November 01, 2011

Industries and businesses that are underserved by the standard insurance products such as environmental liability, surplus lines property and primary and excess casualty, now have a specialty insurer to turn to, thanks to its deployment of a new software platform.

It was announced today by Accenture (News - Alert), a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, that its Accenture Duck Creek Software platform has been deployed by American Safety Administrative Services Inc. (American Safety) and the company is now in production and processing casualty risk policies.

Accenture recently completed its acquisition of Duck Creek Technologies and subsequently integrated it into Accenture Software.

“We're excited to see American Safety go into production,” said Michael A. Jackowski, global managing director of Accenture Software for P&C Insurance. “The flexible tools and scalable technology in the Accenture Duck Creek products will support American Safety's product development initiatives going forward.”

American Safety Indemnity Company, an affiliate insurer of American Safety, is issuing the policies, and is using a part of Accenture’s Property & Casualty (P&C) software suite called Accenture Duck Creek Rating and Accenture Duck Creek Policy Administration.

“The complexity of our products made it imperative for us to have a robust product configuration tool,” said Julia Davis, CIO of American Safety. “We went through a rigorous vendor selection process and felt that the Accenture Duck Creek software suite had the right mix of functionality and technological capability. We're pleased with how the implementation has progressed.”

Accenture, which generated net revenues of US$25.5 billion for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2011, employs roughly 236,000 people and has clients in more than 120 countries. It says it “collaborates with clients to help them become high-performance businesses and governments.”

Likewise, Accenture Software is said to provide “innovative software-based solutions to enable organizations to meet their business goals and achieve high performance.” Deep technology acumen combined with industry knowledge are what Accenture attributes to putting its software in this position.

In other news, TMCnet reported, “Anglo American, one of the world's largest mining companies, recently announced that Accenture will be providing the company application development and management services.”
