Star Analytics Releases Star Command Center

October 17, 2011

Provider of application process automation and integration software Star Analytics has announced the latest release of Star Command Center.

An enterprise solution, the newest offering reduces the cost and complexity of managing hybrid business intelligence (BI) environments. Company officials said that it provides a secure environment to centrally manage, control and view automation tasks that run across cloud and on-premise BI environments.

The new release of Star Command Center addresses the challenges of auditing, compliance and control in enterprise-scale BI deployments, while allowing customers to orchestrate automation on smartphones and web-enabled devices.

Star Command Center provides insights into “who ran what, where and how,” which enhances automation history tracing for file resources, processes and environments. Moreover, this new offering runs large volumes of processes by executing automation tasks in parallel and with an improved command line interface to handshake with other scheduling technologies such as BMC Control M, CA (News - Alert) AutoSys and UC4.

In addition, this release offers an improved plug-in architecture including the ability to run plug-ins based on cross-platform Python scripts and Java. This architecture gives Star Analytics access to a global development force of Python and Java developers who can build and license Star Command Center plug-ins across a huge range of business applications, said Steffen Enni, vice president of Automation Development at Star Analytics.

Enni said that Star Analytics currently provides plug-ins for many of Oracle's Hyperion products including Financial Management, Essbase and Planning. He indicated that the company is quickly expanding to other Oracle (News - Alert) applications and BI applications.

Recently, a prominent international hotel chain selected Star Command Center to automate their Hyperion Financial Management applications hosted in Oracle On Demand.

Additionally, a global pharmaceutical company has expanded its Star Command Center footprint to support its new Oracle Hyperion 11 environment.

“Continued strong adoption of Star Command Center underscores the power of Automation Lifecycle Management in dramatically simplifying the management of all the workflows and automations inside the complex ecosystems powered by Hyperion and other applications -- on-premise, hosted or in the cloud,” said Quinlan Eddy, founder and CEO of Star Analytics.

Earlier this year, Star Analytics announced the Star Command Center Cloud Service for the Microsoft Windows Azure Cloud platform.
