Hughes Telematics Leverages a Full Suite of Integrated Oracle Solutions
Oracle, a specialist in offering integrated business software and hardware systems, revealed that Hughes (News - Alert) Telematics, Inc. is expanding its Oracle environment again by leveraging Oracle's Unified Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) Solution to deliver connected vehicle services, customer support and billing direct to consumers.
Hughes Telematics is already associated with Oracle (News
- Alert) through the deployment of Oracle’s Siebel CRM and Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 systems. To support the high volume of subscriptions expected, HTI needed a sophisticated billing system to integrate with its existing Oracle's systems. As indicated, it selected Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management due to Oracle's market leadership and the product's proven scalability.
"As we looked to expand our offerings to new channels, Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management was the ideal choice as it integrated with our existing infrastructure, was easy to implement and provided the scalability necessary to handle an influx of new subscribers," David Cook, IT director at Hughes Telematics said in a press release.
Oracle's Unified CRM and BRM Solutions are noted to be a high-availability, pre-integrated and configurable solution that is said to now help HTI to expand its business model.
With the integrated Oracle Solution, HTI emphasized that it has realized many benefits, including: Greater scalability to handle an increased subscriptions, decreased time needed to bring new offers to market from 14 days to one day, enabled HTI to expand its business model and enter into new markets, reduced total cost of ownership and implementation risk, an open architecture that enabled easy integration with partner systems to receive external order feeds, flexible billing and charging capabilities.
Moreover, with the implementation, HTI was able to guarantee high availability of its software, hardware and network while simultaneously expanding services to its customer base. The integrated solution also consists of Oracle Fusion Middleware components including Oracle Application Integration Architecture for Communications and Oracle SOA Suite, as well as Oracle Contact Center Anywhere and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
"As communications and machine-to-machine service providers continue to expand their business models and subscribe new customers, they must maintain an integrated back-end infrastructure that enables efficient and streamlined business and customer management processes. We were pleased to help HTI get up and running in such a short timeframe so the company could take advantage of new business opportunities," said Bhaskar Gorti, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications.
In related news, Oracle, Oracle Japan, Canon (News - Alert) Inc., and Canon IT Solutions have revealed plans to combine imaging technologies from Canon with Oracle software products, including Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle WebCenter, and Java Platform Micro Edition (Java ME). The partnership is built on a long, successful relationship between Oracle and Canon.
