Digital Defense Completes Pro-Bono Security Project for Goodwill Industries of San Antonio
Digital Defense, Inc. (DDI), a provider of information security governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) solutions, has completed a pro-bono security project for Goodwill Industries of San Antonio.
Bob Dugas, president and CEO at Goodwill Industries of San Antonio, said that DDI volunteered to help the company better protect information about the personnel and donor patrons through their work on the project.
Dugas said that the project resulted in a measurable improvement in the security of Goodwill Industries’ San Antonio-based computer network via the identification of security vulnerability findings and the suggested prioritization of remediation tasks, which were implemented by Goodwill.
“The combination of their cloud-based technology and outstanding service and support enabled us to improve our security posture and reduce risk from our operation,” Dugas said.
To the clients, DDI’s Frontline Vulnerability Lifecycle Management provides an enterprise-wide, distributed network scanning capabilities on an on-demand basis. Thanks to it, clients can scan any host within their network regardless of its location at any time.
Company officials said that the vulnerability scan and penetration test results are then made available to clients via security information management portal. The portal is configured to support the needs of each client in terms of scan results reporting and workflow management of detected security vulnerabilities.
“Our goal was simple. Ensure that Goodwill Industries could maintain their focus on carrying out their primary mission of helping change lives through the power of work while we helped improve the network security posture of their computing network,” said Larry R. Hurtado, president and CEO at Digital Defense
With the managed option of the vulnerability scanning service, DDI clients receive access to a Personal Security Analyst and also to an Analyst on Demand. DDI also provides prioritization of found vulnerabilities for remediation. Company officials said that this enables clients to save valuable time addressing severe vulnerabilities on hosts.
Moreover, DDI’s integrated approach to the delivery of vulnerability management services offers economic and support benefits to organizations looking for an independent, recurring evaluation of their security operation.
Last month, DDI received formal notification from the Payment Card Industry (PCI (News - Alert)) Security Standards Council (SSC) that it passed the Testing Phase of the PCI Scanning Vendor Program.
