Nuance Releases Dragon for Salesforce App for iPhone and iPad

At the Salesforce.com Dreamforce Conference, the cloud computing industry event, Nuance (News - Alert) Communications, a provider of voice and language solutions, announced a new Dragon for Salesforce app for iPhone and iPad.

Dragon for Salesforce is noted to be a unique combination of Salesforce apps and Nuance’s cloud-based voice recognition to give today’s mobile workforce the ability to stay connected and productive from anywhere. Dragon for Salesforce is a customized integration by Nuance with Salesforce, using the Salesforce API. This new app allows Salesforce users to quickly and easily speak updates into their Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Chatter accounts.

“The integration of Salesforce with Dragon is incredibly exciting for the mobile workforce, with the ability to speak updates directly into Salesforce and Chatter,” Michael Thompson (News - Alert), senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile said in a press release.

“Consumers around the world have embraced Dragon Dictation, and we’re thrilled that its success is driving intense interest in the enterprise market for customized, voice-enable apps,” Thompson added.

As indicated, the Dragon for Salesforce app is available for enterprise mobile and desktop application developers as part of the Nuance Mobile Developer Program and Nuance’s Dragon Desktop Server offering.

The new app will help mobile users to leverage the power of Dragon to dictate text and send it directly to their call log – with call log fields auto-populated upon login to their Salesforce account for contacts and leads – or post to Chatter. People can also speak to quickly and easily dictate text messages, e-mails, or any other text to iPhone clipboard.

Available for free on the Apple (News - Alert) App Store in the US, Dragon for Salesforce harnesses the power of the successful Dragon Dictation app, which has been downloaded by over ten million consumers around the world.

Providing our customers with the added power of Dragon to allow them to speak updates while on the road is incredibly compelling, and just makes sense. It’s exciting to see the rapid innovation coming from our partners building on our trusted mobile platform,” Clarence So, senior vice president, strategy, salesforce.com said in a statement.

With this announcement, Dragon for Salesforce joins the Dragon Mobile Apps family following the success of Dragon Go! application.

Recently, Nuance Communications (News - Alert) announced that its Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps for iPhone (News - Alert), iPod touch and iPad have made their debut in Russia, supporting the Russian language. Russia is the 21st country where Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search have been made available by Nuance in the last year, with both apps available in 18 languages across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
