New Relic Partners with Heroku

The Java applications running on Heroku will now feature the application performance management (APM (News - Alert)) tool for monitoring web applications from New Relic, the company has announced.

Java support on Heroku is now available and joins Ruby, Clojure and Node.js programming languages on Heroku and it was announced last week. Delivering code-level diagnostics for more proactive identification and troubleshooting of web application performance bottlenecks, New Relic offers 24x7 real user and application monitoring along with a unique Java profiler for live web apps, the company stated in a press release.

“New Relic and Heroku have worked together to deliver the tools, resources, and skills organizations needed to rapidly and successfully deploy business-critical apps in the cloud," said Bill Lapcevic, VP Business Development of New Relic. "The addition of New Relic's app production profiling and monitoring capabilities to Heroku's new Cedar platform underscores our continued joint commitment to providing Java developers with the same scalability, simplicity, and reliability that Ruby programmers have enjoyed for over the last two years.”

Heroku customers deploying business-critical Java applications can now monitor, troubleshoot and tune their apps at optimal application performance with New Relic Standard edition available free of charge. Providing application performance monitoring is critical as more businesses look to Heroku to enable their cloud strategy. With New Relic's new production profiling and monitoring capabilities integrated seamlessly with Heroku, Heroku has announced the availability of New Relic's add-on for our tens of thousands of developers worldwide and now growing base of Java developers.

Recently, the company released real user monitoring, meaning all New Relic users will have free access to this capability as part of its core SaaS (News - Alert) application performance monitoring offering. New Relic is a single, all-in-one performance analytics product that allows businesses to manage and monitor Web application performance from the browser to the line of code and it now comes with over 10,000 active accounts reporting over 6 billion performance metrics per day.
