Liz Clairborne Continues Using GT Nexus' Supply Chain Visibility and Control Platform

August 18, 2011

GT Nexus announced that fashion apparel and accessories company Liz Claiborne Inc. has extended its contract for a supply chain visibility and control platform.

According to company officials the platform will be delivered as a cloud service to Liz Claiborne enabling it to optimally monitor and control inventory flows between suppliers, logistics providers, distribution centers and customers.

In a release Bob Keller, vice president of Supply Chain, Logistics and Administration at Liz Claiborne Inc. said, “GT Nexus has been a key part of our global supply chain management strategy for years. We have automated the highly complex coordination of inventory movement in the cloud where our entire network of supply chain partners all work against a single information set.   That is the only way you can run an agile supply chain.”

GT Nexus revealed that Liz Claiborne will be connected to its global partner network for providing visibility across the supply chain encompassing shipment level view up to finer details level like specific style and color.

Liz Claiborne will benefit a lot from the platform which serves as a cloud service that can be shared by thousands of other GT Nexus customers and their supply chain partners. The optimized data management enables individual participating companies to get high levels of visibility and information quality that were not possible with traditional software and value added network (VAN) models.

In a release Greg Johnsen, EVP and co-founder of GT Nexus stated, “Several years ago, the team at Liz Claiborne had the vision to embrace the cloud technology model for supply chain visibility. With cloud and visibility now positioned high on every CEO’s priority list, it is safe to say Liz Claiborne’s vision truly paid off.   Today, they have a global supply chain visibility control system that most companies dream about.”

Companies like Liz Claiborne need visibility form the time orders are placed with suppliers. This is enabled by the GT Nexus platform which tracks inventory flows from booking at origin, international transport, through delivery to the distribution centers. The inventory and supply chain information are linked and stored centrally in the cloud, explained officials.

The availability of a “single version of supply chain truth” provides required process control for the entire Liz Claiborne organization.

GT Nexus announced in May 2011 that Del Monte Foods, one of the largest producers, distributors and marketers of branded food and pet products for the U.S. retail market, has enhanced the capabilities of its global supply chain operating platform – a cloud-based technology service delivered on the GT Nexus trade and logistics platform.
