Eisai to Migrate to Cloud-Based CRM Solution, Veeva CRM
Eisai Inc. announced that it has started transitioning 700+ users across primary care, specialty care, and managed markets in both the U.S. and Canada to Veeva CRM which is a customer relationship management application used in the pharmaceutical industry.
Frank Defesche, general manager of North America at Veeva said in a release, “Veeva CRM is an ideal solution for strategic pharmaceutical companies like Eisai that are preparing for a bright future and looking for a more cost efficient way to scale. Only a truly cloud-based system can deliver this combination of flexibility, usability, and rich functionality.”
It was revealed that Eisai plans to go live with cloud-based Veeva CRM and its analytics module, VInsights, by January of 2012.
Eisai has been using and maintaining multiple, separate on-premise sales support systems including homegrown coaching, reporting, and targeting systems, plus a client/server SFA system that cannot be changed easily besides being expensive to upgrade. These systems did not match the company’s requirements for functionality, increased flexibility, and improved usability.
The company evaluated leading CRM providers and finally zeroed in on Veeva CRM. The new CRM system will help Eisai to streamline its computing environment by integrating three of its systems into a single, cost-efficient solution that will be more functional, said company sources.
The Veeva CRM cloud-based system eliminates need for installing new hardware or software besides offering the benefits of free, transparent upgrades keeping users up to date with new versions of software. Veeva CRM supports several thousands of users globally including major pharmaceutical companies.
Veeva launched iRep, a CRM+CLM application that is designed especially for the Apple (News

The Veeva CRM suite of applications includes VBioPharma, iRep, VMobile, and VInsights popular in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The company’s iRep enables closed loop marketing on the iPad.
In March 2011, LEO Pharma, a global pharmaceutical company specializing in dermatology and critical care announced that will be deploying Veeva CRM, to support its rapidly growing markets in the European region.
