Lucas Unveils Second-Generation of Mobile Engage Mobile App
When first introduced in 2009, the Mobile Engage Mobile App from Lucas Systems, Inc., a provider of voice-directed warehouse applications, became a hit among the warehouse industry as it extends the Web-based reporting, management and configuration tools of the company’s Jennifer’s Engage Management Service Console (MSC) to a mobile device using a standard mobile Web browser, such as iPhone and Android (News - Alert) devices.
Following the success-footpath created by first generation of Mobile Engage Mobile App and the Jennifer voice solution, the Lucas Systems has now announced second generation of the app -- Mobile Engage 2.0 – that extends the Web-based intelligence, reporting and management alerts available in the Jennifer VoicePlus System to managers using a Smartphone or PDA.
Precisely, Lucas’ Mobile Engage is a mobile application designed to provide warehouse managers with real-time process updates via a mobile devices. It extends the Web-based reporting, management and configuration tools of Jennifer’s Engage MSC (News - Alert) to a mobile device.
Available as an add-on to existing Jennifer VoicePlus voice picking systems, the Mobile Engage mobile app helps managers to: view work status across a DC; monitor associate productivity; view and manage exceptions; and access other management information and alerts available in the standard Web-based Engage MSC.
With management dashboards and alerts delivered to a mobile browser, supervisors and managers utilizing the Mobile Engage can receive real-time production information on the warehouse floor, said officials with Lucas in the release.
Chris Sweeney, senior VP of Lucas Systems, said in a statement, “For the past decade we have been adding more powerful reporting and management tools to Jennifer, helping managers to better plan and manage their operations through the Web-based Engage MSC. Mobile Engage is a natural extension of this, pushing real-time business intelligence to mobile devices. This seemingly small addition to an existing voice directed warehouse system can drive big improvements in management efficiency and effectiveness.”
The Lucas Jennifer VoicePlus is a voice-directed picking and warehouse logistics solution. It adapts according to a client’s processes, systems and users, thereby maximizing ROI from voice technology.
According to Lucas, its Jennifer voice solution can communicate with the client’s associates through a headset and with a voice-enabled mobile computer of choice. The solution utilizes information from host or warehouse management system (WMS) to hold a two-way conversation with warehouse workers, instructing them what to do and verifying as well as responding accordingly.
Some of the functionalities offered by Jennifer voice solution include voice picking and order selection, receiving, put-away/stocking, replenishment, loading, returned goods processing, equipment inspection, and quality control/audit.
As reported by TMC, Jennifer VoicePlus was recently featured by Lucas Systems at the RedPrairie’s 14th annual user conference, RedShift: 2011.
