NetSuite Solutions Picked by Magellan GPS to Replace its E-Commerce System

NetSuite (News - Alert) Inc. a provider of cloud-based financials/ERP software suites announced that Magellan GPS, a leading portable navigation consumer electronics company has selected NetSuite to overhaul its Ecommerce operations.

According to NetSuite sources, Magellan GPS has replaced its home-grown legacy Ecommerce system with NetSuite’s cloud-based solution to run Ecommerce, marketing, merchandising and customer service.

Renato Siljeg, Head of Information Technology for Magellan GPS and MiTAC Digital Corporation, said in a release, “NetSuite unifies our telesales, support, and Ecommerce efforts on a single platform, and gives us real-time order processing unavailable with our outdated legacy system.”

NetSuite’s powerful SuiteCloud development platform allows rapid deployment and integration with Magellan GPS’s existing corporate ERP instance, Oracle (News - Alert) Financials. Also, Magellan GPS has successfully reduced Ecommerce technology expenditures besides streamlining online shopping processes for customers.

The solution from NetSuite helps Magellan GPS to improve call handle times besides enabling tripled daily transaction processing and improved fraud management. 

Magellan GPS opted for NetSuite to replace its old solution in order to enhance its direct-to-consumer Ecommerce offerings, increase the productivity of the Ecommerce team, and also ensure stability and scalability, confirmed officials.

“We have tripled our productivity, enhanced our risk management, and reduced our overall Ecommerce IT expenditures by more than 20 percent switching to NetSuite,” Siljeg added.

Magellan GPS or MiTAC Digital Corporation holds over 200 key patents in GPS technology and has further expanded its offerings to new mobile and outdoor product lines such as RoadMate App for iPhone (News - Alert). This kind of extension was not supported effectively by the software which was inflexible and needed customization to support the new product lines.

Hence the company required a cost effective Ecommerce technology partner with experience in the industry, proven product scalability, and acceptance.

Now NetSuite enables Magellan GPS’s Ecommerce marketing and merchandising teams and its customer service representatives, to provide a superior merchant gateway with fraud protection solutions. The NetSuite solution has helped Magellan GPS to triple the number of orders processed per day besides reducing Ecommerce-related IT spending, added officials.

The company also announced that leading online flash sale e-tailer, Beyond the Rack, deployed NetSuite OneWorld to support its rapid, global expansion and better manage its fast-moving inventory.
