Mike Pilcher is New President of SAND Technology

Mike Pilcher, the chief operating officer of SAND Technology Inc., has been appointed as the president of the company. Effective immediately, Pilcher will now serve the positions of president and COO. An announcement in this regard has been made by the provider of the world's most advanced column store database, SAND Technology, Inc.

In a release, Pilcher said, "The column database and advanced analytic market is becoming increasingly urgent for the Enterprise. SAND is not only a pioneer in this space, with the most mature, most advanced technology, but one of the last independent vendors in the industry. Big data is driving big changes in enterprises from customer loyalty data to marketing to churn analytics."

Pilcher added that with SAND’s software, the flexibility and the breadth and depth, the company has been uniquely positioned to succeed in this market.

According to Tom O'Donnell, CEO of SAND, Pilcher brings incredible experience, knowledge, and passion to the table. O’Donnell said, "It's been a challenging year re-focusing SAND on our core strengths and positioning it for future growth. I'm thrilled to have Mike take on the role and responsibility of president, his insight and drive will be crucial in helping SAND execute our plans."

Pilcher was sales director hiring solutions, EMEA at LinkedIn Corporation before joining SAND. Mike has also worked at Oracle (News - Alert) Corp. The UK Insurance was headed by Pilcher at Oracle. He also ran UK Financial Services and Hyperroll in the data acceleration space at Sybase (News - Alert). Pilcher has written a book, Prosultative Selling, which helps to leverage modern marketing techniques to drive enterprise sales.
