HTC Corporation Launches Sales Quote Management Software as SaaS
Taiwanese Smartphone manufacturer HTC Corporation announced it will offer its Sale Quote Management (SQM) software system as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News
- Alert)) hosted by The Nest Group in Washington, D.C.
The SQM process application offers enterprise-level innovation to locate the most cost-effective configuration, company officials said. It allows sales people to control the speed of the sales quote and win the quote.
“SQM provides historical tracking of past quotes and manages the most elaborate quote process from beginning through contract delivery to the customer, linking the sales, engineering, and financial and supply chain functions,” the company said.
While companies today are focused on managing their sales cycle through customer-relationship-management (CRM) or their financial, production and material transactions through enterprise-resources-planning (ERP) systems, they need to be highly competitive to win a quote.
The SQM addresses the gap between CRM and ERP by ensuring that that the complete quote process is successful, fast and competitive, HTC (News - Alert) said. Improving the win ratio of quotes even by a small percentage will make a substantial difference in revenue growth.
SQM also covers customer product configuration, standardization of components, product commonality and reuse, recyclable materials for components, and customer and vendor management.
The technology uses an algorithm-based cost and configuration process that relies on massive data searches, integrating the workflow of the quoting process through all cross-functional teams.
As geographic barriers disappear in today’s businesses, companies are forced to manage the new products as well as introduce differentiated products to fuel top-line growth by leveraging SaaS.
“Innovation is focused on how to generate revenue through offering re-configuration of products and value mix and pricing models,” HTC officials said. “Companies are succeeding by integrating their supply chain activities and creating shorter cycles from innovation to market, while teaming across functions and disciplines, such as sale, engineering, supply chain and finance.”
Earlier this year, HTC announced it is buying U.S.-based cloud video game services company US OnLive. HTC agreed to take 5.33 million preferred shares in US OnLive for US $39 million (29 million euros), in a move to increase its sector portfolio, according to a press release.
