Marketfish Hires First Chief Privacy Officer
With more than 20 years of experience as a marketing executive, Fowler will help Marketfish to meet its set objectives.
Fowler has also spent the last eight years of his career strictly focused on privacy, online convergence, email marketing, and deliverability. In his new role, he will directly report to Dave Scott, Marketfish chief executive officer.
“We’re excited to have David Fowler join our leadership team,” Scott said, in a press release. “As one of the top experts in the world on privacy matters, he’ll ensure the safest possible environment for our advertiser clients and publisher partners.”
In his new profile, Fowler will be responsible for defining and overseeing Marketfish’s privacy policies, as well as driving the company’s strategies for maximizing email deliverability to the inbox.
Prior to joining Marketfish, Fowler worked in senior management in a number of major companies in the United States and Europe like Lyris Inc., Alterian, and Blue Hornet/Digital River (News
- Alert), XO Communications and Qwest.
“To achieve optimal campaign performance, client engagement and results for marketers, a commitment to privacy and email best practices must be adopted within their respective business models,” said Fowler, in a statement.
“I am committed to defining and deploying known privacy strategies and email best practice policies that will enhance Marketfish’s value proposition to our clients and industry partners.”
Fowler has spoken and consulted internationally. His speaking engagements have included the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Federal Trade Commission, the American Marketing Association and many more.
Academically, he holds a graduation degree from Marylhurst College in Portland, Oregon.
