Infor and SoftBrands Launch Hospitality Management System

June 25, 2010
SoftBrands, an associate of Infor, the provider of business software for mid-market companies, reveals SoftBrands HMS.

SoftBrands HMS is a comprehensive hospitality management system (HMS) that's ideal for independent, regional and global hotels and chains. SoftBrands HMS uses Infor ION and brings together the ability to manage guests, reservations, rooms, distribution, rates and more.

This comprehensive business application from SoftBrands enables configurable workflows to provide the right information to the right user at the right time. SoftBrans HMS is based on proven hospitality functionality. It utilizes a component architecture to combine components for profile, inventory, rate management, preferences, and guest recognition that allows a single guest-centric database throughout an entire global enterprise. It provides system integration all throughout functions and departments and it allows non-disruptive upgrades. The SoftBrands HMS is also built on Infor ION, which allows hospitality companies to choose to use existing or additional third-party systems with integration into the HMS backbone.

Ron Strecker, the chief finance officer of The Al J. Schneider Co., parent company of the Galt House Hotel, stated that as a large urban hotel in the country, and with more guest suites than any other urban hotel outside Las Vegas, the Gal House Hotel's approximately 1,300 guest rooms and more than 124,000 square feet of meeting spaces makes the hotel the meeting and convention location of choice in the area.

Strecker added that now that they have sampled SoftBrands HMS, the Galt House Hotel can see how the combination of Infor technology and SoftBrands expertise will provide the next generation system for flawlessly running hospital operations. It will also make the experiences of the guests more enjoyable.

David Purcell, the director of hospitality solution marketing at SoftBrands, said that they word 'hospitality' stress the significance of guest service at every level in this industry. The industry has been handicapped by outdated property management systems that do not provide a 360 degree view of guest interaction. SoftBrands HMS, however, will allow the industry to fulfill its potential for guest services.

In related news, Avaya (News - Alert) recently launched Avaya Hospitality Enablement Suite.
