Calient Networks Adds Four New Sales Executives

Calient Networks Inc. has announced the expansion of its sales force by adding four new sales executives. Calient is a global leader in optical switching technology. The company can use the addition in its sales team to pursue new markets where 100G network technologies are being adopted for managing an explosion in content and data.
 
FiberConnect FC320X is a breakthrough product from Calient that offers a high density large capacity fiber optic cross-connect system. It is based on 3D micro-electro-mechanical-systems (MEMS) technology. According to Kevin Welsh, president and COO of Calient Networks, a customer looking for a solution for a bandwidth of 100G and beyond is in need of a their system. The experienced team has been added for tapping new markets consisting of service providers, government agencies, ISPs and data center operators. He expects that the new sales executives added will help the company to succeed in the existing and new markets.
 
O. J. Johnson is joining as its new global solutions leader. He has held various positions in large corporations and also in startups in the telecommunication industry including Glimmerglass Networks and Cisco Systems (News - Alert). He holds an M.A. in technical communication and a B.S. in secondary education in English from the University of East Carolina.
 
John Reynolds is joining to look after business development for data center and OEM partners. He has worked in Infinera (News - Alert) Corporation Inc. and CIENA Communications Inc. before his selection in Calient. He has extensive sales experience in telecommunication industry. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Sothern Methodist University.
 
Business development for service providers is going to be looked after by Bill Stephenson. He has held various positions at CIENA Corporation and Nortel (News - Alert) Networks and has more than 16 years experience in technical sales, data networking and systems engineering. He has an M.S. degree in computer information systems from St. Mary's University and a B.S. degree in political science from Charleston Southern University.
 
Glen Stern is joining as new government practice leader. He was director of federal business development at FORTINET. He had also worked as National Account Manager for AT&T (News - Alert). He has account management experience in the federal government and also with service providers. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Temple University.
