Options Media Announces Mobile Social Media and Microblogging Services

February 11, 2010
Options Media Group, an email service provider, permission based email, SMS, text messaging marketing and mobile marketing company, has announced the availability of social media and microblogging services through its SMS Mobile platform.

The launch of these new services, according to Options Media Group, opens significant revenue opportunity for the company through the entry into the burgeoning application and premium billing market place.

“While social media applications are very popular, there is currently very little money being made within the space,” said Scott Frohman, CEO of Options Media Group, in a statement. “We have designed a set of products that provides an innovative link between social media and SMS-messaging.”

Text to Prayer” is the first service to be offered via this platform, company officials said. Text to Prayer is a fee-based subscription service that allows users access to daily Christian prayers via text message. The messages will be provided by well known priests, evangelists, and renowned religious figures, they added.

The service platform from Options Media Group surpasses the capabilities of Twitter, Facebook (News - Alert), or the other free social media sites, claim company officials. This is because the service allows for a much more personal experience by allowing direct communications to fans/followers via a more easily obtained mobile SMS-text format.

In addition to the religious-oriented markets, Options Media Group plans to target similar niche markets and plans to partner with professional athletes, celebrities, and musicians to create new mobile marketing campaigns, the company said.

Options Media Group recently announced that it has decided to purchase the Broadcaster email-marketing appliance from WhatCounts, TMCnet reported. The technology will handle all of the company’s email creation, distribution and management needs, company officials said.

WhatCounts is a leading player in comprehensive e-communication programs leveraging the power of targeted permission-based email messaging, interactive two-way dialogue, personalized content syndication through RSS and extensive marketing services, the company said.
