Amdocs, a provider of customer experience systems or CES (News - Alert) reportedly announced that its Amdocs CES 7.5 Convergent Billing offering for broadband operators is available now.

 

Company sources said that the Amdocs 7.5 will be available on the Sun Solaris 10 Operating System supported by Sun Microsystems’ (News - Alert) energy-efficient SPARC-based servers. These will be powered by Sun’s CoolThreads technology and by Sun SPARC Enterprise servers with SPARC64 processors.

 

The enhancements now made to the Amdocs (News - Alert) 7.5 Convergent Billing for supporting Sun Solaris 10 OS was a result of joint engineering work undertaken by Amdocs and Sun for a large broadband operator in the United States. Amdocs CES 7.5 Convergent Billing on the Sun platform, a solution which was already available for service providers, will be now made available to all broadband customers.

 

Service providers are demanding more flexibility in systems and operating software platforms owing to the increase in connectivity requirements. Amdocs is capable of supporting its customers on multiple platforms so that it can enhance performance, efficiencies and also gain new opportunities.

 

Amdocs sources revealed that the ability to run Amdocs CES 7.5 Convergent Billing on the Solaris 10 OS is an example of the strong relationship between the two companies. Amdocs has collaborated with Sun Microsystems, Inc. in order to provide customers with optimum support and technology.
