Spirent's Validation Solutions For TbE Data Centers And Networks
May 20, 2009
Spirent Communications has announced that it now has comprehensive unified layers 2 to 7 test architecture solutions capable of validating end to end functioning of 10, 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) fabrics, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) convergence, virtualized server networking and cloud computing-based applications and security. 100 GbE is also known as Terabit Ethernet (TbE).
Officials at the company say that data centers of the future are being conceptualized, designed and created around virtualized services and converged fabric. These solutions are poised to significantly raise the benchmark acceptance levels for network performance, scale and reach of network, 6 nines service availability, total system security, application Quality of Experience (QoE) for end-users, enhanced power efficiency, reduced Total cost of Ownership, and faster Return On Investments.
As reported earlier by TMCnet, the intense demand for IP related technologies and solutions have gone through the stratosphere. Consumers and companies want simultaneous media rich content such as advertising, games, entertainment, and news that are delivered live, on demand and interactively, instantaneous zero latency, crystal clear video, voice and message IP communications, and large data information sharing, immediate transfer and receipt, and storage.
It is these demands that are stoking the fervour and push for Terabit Capacity Data Centers, networks and solutions, which, according to company officials, can only be speedily validated by holistic test architecture.
"Market conditions are accelerating innovations around data center performance, scalability, security, and power efficiencies," said Bill Burns, CEO at Spirent Communications (News - Alert). "Spirent's holistic, unified test architecture enables today's innovators to achieve their vision of building and deploying tomorrow's dynamic data centers."
The company had earlier won, reported TMCnet, the 2007 Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) Market Leadership Award in recognition of its leadership position in the security test equipment market because of its comprehensive suite of security and performance solutions that deliver a proactive approach to network testing.
The company’s holistic data center testing architecture suite will be on display at its booth in Interop (News - Alert) 2009 and includes Virtual, Hypermetrics, Avalanche, GreenPut, NoCode, and OnDEMAND that are all prefixed with ‘Spirent TestCenter,’ which by itself is a validation solution.
