Five9 Equips 2-1-1 California with Cost Effective Telephony Solution
A nonprofit network dedicated to public service, 2-1-1 California claims that it can now successfully deliver information and referral services across the state in many different and difficult situations because it has selected Five9 (News - Alert) as its virtual call center platform.
“We have been looking for a telephony solution that will bring more reliability and business continuity for our multi-county 2-1-1 call center. Five 9’s unique capacities will make that a reality for us,” said Erik Sternad, Executive Director of Interface Children & Family Services, and responsible for 2-1-1 Ventura.
Ninety- three percent of California's population in twenty-seven counties has individual access to
2-1-1California. However, the state was in search of a solution that would not only allow for network coordination in critical times but also a solution that would suit its limited budget.
Five 9's powerful and flexible advanced call routing capabilities that allowed individual counties to back each other up in the event of a disaster, its lower infrastructure costs and its ability to allow 2-1-1 California to easily provide disaster response information to counties that currently have no access, made it an obvious choice.
In a press release, Mike Burkland, CEO, Five9, summed up the benefits that the call center offered and said, “The business flexibility provided by Five9, both financially and operationally, as a cloud-based call center solution, allows counties across the state to deliver much greater service, optimizing the resources available to them as nonprofit organizations.”
2-1-1 is a free phone number and online database that connects Californians quickly and effectively to relevant services and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and in 150 different languages.
