(PEMRA takes serious notice of TV channels blackout)

Islamabad, Nov 18, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) --
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has taken serious note of suspension of the distribution of its licensed channels Geo News and ARY One World on Monday on cable TV networks in Karachi and some areas of the interior Sindh, says a press release here.


PEMRA got the transmission restored immediately and has taken prompt action against the defaulting cable operators, it says. Show cause notices have been issued to them and necessary investigation is underway, the release added. This is to assure all concerned that the Authority shall ensure strict legal action against the violators, it further added.
